Danish Premiere of the New Dacia Duster: What You Need to Know

Dacia Duster

Dacia Duster returns to Denmark with a bold update. Over 2.5 million units have been sold since its debut in 2010. The 2025 Duster now launches on the CMF-B platform, bringing major upgrades in space, design, and efficiency. With a starting price of approximately $45,000, it remains one of the most budget-conscious compact SUVs available.

Core Features and Updates

Built on a New Platform

  • Platform: CMF-B (used by Renault Captur and Dacia Jogger)
  • Length: 4.34 meters (170.9 inches)
  • Width: 1.81 meters (71.3 inches)
  • Height: 1.66 meters (65.4 inches)

Interior space has improved. There’s 30 mm more legroom in both front and rear. Cargo capacity rises by 15%, now 517 liters (18.3 cubic feet) under the parcel shelf.

Updated Powertrain

  • Engine: 1.6-liter petrol engine with hybrid system
  • Power: 140 horsepower
  • Transmission: Automatic
  • Fuel Efficiency: 47 mpg (20 km/l)
  • CO₂ Emissions: 113 g/km

The hybrid powertrain is a first for Duster, helping reduce emissions and improve urban efficiency.

Interior Design and Tech

  • Infotainment Screen: 10.1 inches
  • Connectivity: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Upholstery: Durable microfiber, easy to clean

The cabin has been redesigned to feel more intuitive. The 10.1-inch screen includes Dacia’s latest Media Display and Media Nav Live systems.

Safety Features

  • Automatic Emergency Braking: Detects pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists
  • Cruise Control: Included as standard
  • Traffic Sign Recognition: Detects and alerts to speed limits
  • Lane Departure Warning + Lane Keep Assist: Helps maintain lane positioning
  • Automatic High Beam: Standard on Expression and Extreme models

These features help Dacia meet EU-mandated safety standards while improving driver confidence.

Design Language and Trim Levels

Exterior Styling

The new Duster introduces the "Dacia Link" logo on a more vertical grille. Wheel arches, skid plates, and roof rails add rugged detail. Y-shaped LED lights front and rear replace traditional shapes.

Trim Levels in Denmark

  • Essential (base model)
  • Expression (mid-tier)
  • Extreme (top-tier with rugged design)
  • Journey (comfort-focused, not yet available in Denmark)

Expression and Extreme trims come with larger screens and more safety features. Essential trim provides a stripped-back, affordable SUV option.

Comparison With Similar SUVs

Here's how the new Dacia Duster compares with other compact SUVs:

Focus on Practicality

  • Removable YouClip accessories let drivers attach hooks, phone mounts, and modular storage
  • Rear seats split 60/40 for increased cargo versatility
  • High ground clearance supports light off-road use

These features emphasize functionality and usability for daily driving and weekend trips.

Environmental Considerations

The hybrid powertrain reduces fuel use. The new platform’s lower CO₂ emissions support eco-conscious driving. The interior uses fewer petroleum-based plastics and more recycled materials.

Who the Duster Appeals To

This SUV targets drivers who want:

  • A simple, reliable vehicle
  • Low running costs
  • High seating position with light off-road ability
  • No-nonsense technology and connectivity

Urban dwellers, commuters, and small families are the primary audience.

Final Thoughts

The 2025 Dacia Duster keeps its identity—simple, durable, and accessible. But now it brings better fuel economy, smarter tech, and stronger safety. It’s still a value leader in the SUV space, now with more of everything where it counts.

The Danish launch is well-timed. The updated Duster fits neatly into a growing market segment for hybrid, budget-friendly SUVs. Buyers can now get hybrid efficiency, decent tech, and rugged looks—without spending more than $45,000.
