Honda has finally entered the electric SUV market with the 2024 Honda Prologue, a sleek and spacious vehicle that offers a class-leading standard range rating of up to 303 miles. The Prologue, which will start arriving at dealers this spring and is priced at $47,400, is based on a platform developed jointly with General Motors and uses the same Ultium battery pack as the Chevrolet Blazer EV. But unlike the Blazer EV, which has a more conventional design, the Prologue sports a neo-rugged look.
What Makes the Prologue Stand Out?
The Honda Prologue is not just another electric SUV. It has several features that make it unique and appealing to a wide range of buyers. Here are some of the highlights:
- Fast and easy charging: The Prologue can be charged at a high-speed DC Fast Charging station, which can provide approximately 65 miles of range after 10 minutes of charging. Honda also offers a Honda Home Electrification service, which helps customers select and install their home charging solutions. Additionally, the Prologue comes with a Honda Smart Charge system, which notifies the driver of the best and most cost-efficient time to plug in.
- Sporty and eco-friendly performance: The Prologue is available with either a single-motor or a dual-motor powertrain, which deliver 212 hp and 288 hp respectively. The dual-motor version also provides all-wheel drive for better traction and handling. The Prologue also has a regenerative braking system, which recovers energy from braking and coasting and uses it to recharge the battery.
- Spacious and tech-rich cabin: The Prologue offers over 136.9 cubic feet of interior space, which can accommodate up to five passengers and their luggage. The cabin is also equipped with an 11.3-inch center display that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Google built-in. The Prologue also features a Bose Premium 12 Speaker Audio System, a panoramic sunroof, and a head-up display.
- Advanced safety and driver-assist features: The Prologue comes standard with the Honda Sensing suite, which includes a range of safety and driver-assist features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind zone steering assist, and parking assist. The Prologue also has a wireless phone charger, a rearview camera, and a digital key.
