The Toyota Proace Max: A Large Van with Strength, Capacity and Efficiency

Toyota Proace Max

If you are looking for a large van to handle any job, you might want to check out the all-new Toyota Proace Max. This is the latest addition to the Toyota Professional range of light commercial vehicles, and it offers a lot of benefits for your business. In this article, we will explain how the Toyota Proace Max delivers strength, capacity and efficiency and how it compares to similar products in the market.

What is the Proace Max?

The Proace Max is the largest model in the Toyota Professional range, and it is based on the same platform as the Peugeot Boxer and the Fiat Ducato. It is available in four configurations, with two wheelbase lengths, three overall lengths, and two height options. Depending on the version, the Proace Max can offer a cargo capacity of up to 17 cubic meters, a payload of up to 1,500 kg, and a towing capacity of up to 3,000 kg. The Proace Max also has full-height doors that can open up to 270 degrees, a low loading threshold, and a practical square opening for easy access to the load area.

What are the powertrain options for the Proace Max?

The Proace Max offers two powertrain options: a diesel engine and a battery electric vehicle (BEV). The diesel engine is a 2.2-litre four-cylinder unit that produces either 140 hp or 165 hp, depending on the version. It is paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic transmission, and it has a fuel consumption of up to 38.7 mpg and CO2 emissions of up to 192 g/km.

The BEV option is a zero-emission electric motor that delivers 136 hp and 260 Nm of torque. It is powered by a 70 kWh battery pack that provides a range of up to 260 miles on a single charge, according to the WLTP standard. The battery can be recharged in about six hours using a 22 kW charger or in about 45 minutes using a 50 kW rapid charger. The BEV option also has a regenerative braking system that helps to recover energy and extend the range.

What are the features and benefits of the Toyota Proace Max?

The Proace Max is designed to offer a comfortable and convenient driving experience, as well as a high level of safety and reliability. Some of the features and benefits of the Proace Max are:

  • A modern and spacious cabin that can accommodate up to three passengers, with ergonomic seats, a multifunction steering wheel, and a range of storage compartments.
  • A digital instrument cluster that displays key information such as speed, range, battery level, and driving mode.
  • A multimedia system that features a 7-inch touchscreen, a DAB radio, a USB port, Bluetooth connectivity, and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The system also supports connected services such as live traffic updates, online navigation, and remote vehicle control.
  • A rear-view camera and parking sensors that help to maneuver the vehicle in tight spaces.
  • A blind spot monitor and a lane departure warning system that alert the driver of potential hazards on the road.
  • A pre-collision system and an adaptive cruise control system that help to prevent or mitigate collisions by applying the brakes or adjusting the speed automatically.
  • A hill start assist system and a trailer stability control system that help to control the vehicle and the trailer on slopes or curves.
  • A five-year or 100,000-mile warranty that covers the vehicle and the battery, as well as a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty and a one-year roadside assistance service.

It has a cargo capacity, payload, and towing capacity similar to the Peugeot Boxer and the Fiat Ducato, but it has a better fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, and electric range. It also has a longer warranty than all of its competitors. Compared to the Ford Transit, the Toyota Proace Max has a larger cargo capacity and a longer electric range but a lower payload, towing capacity, fuel consumption, and CO2 emissions. However, the Proace Max also has more advanced safety and connectivity features than the Ford Transit.
