Mercedes-Benz Trucks has partnered with Coca-Cola to bring its eActros electric truck to the Austrian market as part of the Coca-Cola Christmas truck tour. The eActros is the first all-electric truck from Mercedes-Benz, and it offers a range of benefits for urban distribution transport, such as high efficiency, low emissions, and fast charging.
The eActros will accompany the Coca-Cola trucks in several cities across Austria, including Vienna, Graz, Salzburg, and Innsbruck. The tour started on December 1st and ended on December 8th, featuring festive decorations, music, games, and free samples of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.
The eActros is more than just a truck
The Mercedes-Benz eActros is not only a vehicle for transporting goods. It is also part of an integrated solution that includes eConsulting and digital services. These services aim to help customers make the transition to net-zero local emissions by providing them with tailored advice, support, and solutions.
For example, customers can use the eConsulting service to get personalized recommendations on how to optimize their fleet operations with electric trucks. They can also access digital solutions such as the eActros app, which allows them to monitor their truck’s performance, location, battery status, and charging options.
The eActros also comes with proven assistance systems from Mercedes-Benz Trucks that enhance safety and comfort for drivers. These systems include Stability Control Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Attention Assist and Sideguard Assist to Active Brake Assist 5, tire pressure monitoring, and Roll Control Assist. The cab also features a new fire detection and alarm system that warns drivers in case of an emergency.
The eActros has a range of up to 400 km
One of the main advantages of the eActros is its long range. Depending on the version of the battery pack (three or four), the eActros can travel up to 330 km or 400 km on a single charge. This means that it can cover most urban distribution routes without needing frequent refueling.
The charging process is also very fast and convenient. With a charging capacity of 160 kW, it can go from 20% battery to 80% in just over an hour with three batteries or in around an hour and a half with four batteries. The standardized charging system makes it easy for customers to find compatible charging stations along their routes.
The Coca-Cola Christmas truck tour is a festive tradition
The Coca-Cola Christmas truck tour is one of the most popular events in Austria during the holiday season. It has been running since 2012, and it attracts thousands of visitors every year who want to see Santa Claus’ sleighs decorated with Coca-Cola products.
The tour also offers fun activities for children and adults alike. For example, they can take part in a Santa quiz on the Coca-Cola app, collect special App currencies by enjoying refreshing beverages at participating stores, play games at various locations along the route, or enter promotions for prizes such as toys or vouchers.
The tour aims to spread joy and happiness across Austria by bringing people together around Coca-Cola’s values of sharing happiness through moments together. It also supports various social causes such as education, health care, sports development, environmental protection, and cultural heritage preservation.
