NISMO has a rich heritage of creating some of the most exciting and successful vehicles in motorsport history, such as the legendary Skyline GT-R, the Le Mans-winning R390 GT1, and the current GT500 champion GT-R NISMO.
NISMO also applies its expertise and passion to enhance select Nissan models' performance, handling, and style, such as the 370Z, the Juke, the Sentra, and the Patrol. What makes the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO special?
The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO is the third generation of the Z NISMO, following the 350Z NISMO and the 370Z NISMO. It is based on the 2024 Nissan Z Performance trim but has significant upgrades and enhancements that make it more powerful, agile, and aerodynamic. Here are some of the key features that distinguish the Z NISMO from the regular Z:
- A more potent engine: The Z NISMO uses the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine as the Z Performance, but with a higher output of 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque, thanks to a revised ECU, larger intercoolers, and a freer-flowing exhaust system. This represents an increase of 20 horsepower and 34 lb-ft of torque over the Z Performance and a whopping 68 horsepower and 84 lb-ft of torque over the previous 370Z NISMO. The Z NISMO also features a larger engine oil cooler and a transmission oil cooler to ensure optimal performance and durability under extreme conditions.
- A faster transmission: The Z NISMO is exclusively available with a nine-speed automatic transmission, which has been reinforced and recalibrated to handle the extra power and torque. The transmission also features a new Sport+ mode, which provides quicker and more aggressive shifts and rev-matching and launch control functions. The Z NISMO also comes with a mechanical limited-slip differential, improving traction and cornering stability.
- A stiffer chassis: The Z NISMO benefits from additional underbody braces that increase the rigidity and strength of the chassis, resulting in better handling and responsiveness. - A sleeker aerodynamics: The Z NISMO boasts a more aggressive and aerodynamic body kit than the Z Performance, which enhances its appearance and performance. The front bumper features a larger and lower air intake, a carbon-fiber splitter, and LED daytime running lights. The rear bumper features a carbon-fiber diffuser and a dual-exit exhaust system. The side skirts, the rear spoiler, and the mirror caps are also made of carbon fiber, reducing weight and improving downforce.
