Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled a new open innovation approach to accelerate next-generation technology and sustainability, enabling the firm to deliver on its vision of modern luxury for a business, partners, and consumers.
The new strategy will focus on electrification, connectivity, digital services, intelligent business, production, supply chain, and sustainability in collaboration with start-ups, scaling corporations, and like-minded external organizations.
Jaguar Land Rover will open an inventive center in the United Kingdom in conjunction with Plug and Play's investor and corporate innovation platform as part of its new worldwide strategy. Additionally, two separate agreements with Cubo Itau and Firjan will give access to Latin America's burgeoning entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The action is part of Jaguar Land Rover's Reimagine strategy, which aims to create the world's most aesthetically pleasing premium vehicles for the world's most bigoted consumers. The innovation program will work with innovators and industry experts to find digital services, products, tools, and processes that can assist the company reaches net-zero emissions by 2039 while also establishing new value chains.
Jaguar Land Rover is one of the founding members of Plug and Play UK, which is developing an ecosystem of start-ups and expanding businesses that will provide employment and opportunities for the digital economy. Additionally, the platform will give the organization access to a worldwide network of partners, enabling it to experiment with new technologies and economic models.
In Brazil, Jaguar Land Rover has signed two collaboration agreements with Cubo Ita and Firjan. Brazil is a vital center for Latin America's booming business sector and the location of one of Jaguar Land Rover's manufacturing sites.
Cubo Itau, based in Sao Paulo, now houses hundreds of start-ups across various industries, including financial technology, agriculture, health and care, and retail. Jaguar Land Rover will be a critical component of Cubo's newly built Smart Mobility Hub at the cutting edge of automotive innovation.
Firjan is a private institution representing Rio de Janeiro's industrial and economic sectors. Firjan will collaborate closely with Jaguar Land Rover to link start-ups developing new automotive manufacturing techniques and access modern laboratories for research and development activities.
To allow open innovation, Jaguar Land Rover has hired more than 70 "experts" throughout the organization's primary business sectors, including sustainability, technology, design, research, and manufacturing, who will serve as the strategy's driving force.
