2026 Subaru Ascent Pricing, Trims, and Features: What Buyers Need to Know

2026 Subaru Ascent Pricing, Trims, and Features

Subaru has released full pricing and feature details for the 2026 Ascent, its largest and most family-focused SUV. As the brand’s only three-row SUV, the Ascent targets buyers who need space, towing capability, and year-round traction. For 2026, Subaru simplifies the trim lineup, adds upgraded tech, and updates interior materials across the board.

A new Sapphire Blue Pearl paint color replaces Cosmic Blue. Prices start at $40,795 and top out just under $52,000 before destination fees. Every model includes standard all-wheel drive, key safety features, and improved infotainment.

The 2026 Ascent is built in Lafayette, Indiana, alongside the Crosstrek and Forester. Its standard turbocharged engine, flexible 7- or 8-passenger configurations, and high safety ratings keep it competitive in the midsize SUV market. The model arrives at U.S. retailers this fall.

Trim Levels and Pricing

The 2026 Ascent offers five trims. Destination fee is $1,450 ($1,600 in Alaska).

Powertrain and Capability

Every Ascent uses a 2.4-liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine producing 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque.
It pairs with a Lineartronic CVT featuring 8-speed manual mode and paddle shifters.
Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and X-MODE with Hill Descent Control deliver traction.
Maximum towing capacity is 5,000 pounds.

Standard Safety Features

The 2026 Ascent continues Subaru's safety track record. All trims include:

  • EyeSight Driver Assist with Wide-Angle Mono Camera and Emergency Stop Assist
  • Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Reverse Automatic Braking
  • Automatic Emergency Steering

Higher trims add DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation.

Technology and Interior Highlights

Premium trim starts with strong equipment:

  • Black StarTex upholstery
  • Heated front seats
  • 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • LED fog lights
  • 19 cupholders

Limited trim adds:

  • Leather seats
  • Heated second-row seats
  • Harman Kardon audio
  • Surround View Monitor

Limited Bronze Edition integrates bronze wheels and accents with bronze-stitched StarTex upholstery.

Touring trim delivers:

  • Nappa leather seating
  • Matte woodgrain interior
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Smart rearview mirror

Onyx Edition Touring includes exclusive blacked-out styling and green-stitched interior details.

Market Impact

Subaru assembled the 2026 Ascent in Lafayette, Indiana, reinforcing its U.S. production.
The model keeps its IIHS Top Safety Pick streak alive and maintains a 5-Star NHTSA rating.
With simplified trims, stronger interior tech, and standard AWD, Subaru aims to keep the Ascent competitive against Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Hyundai Palisade.

Key Takeaway

The 2026 Subaru Ascent delivers safety, AWD capability, and straightforward trim choices. Pricing positions it competitively while keeping strong feature content. Families seeking a mid-size SUV with standard AWD and towing strength should consider this model.
