Vikings was meant to be a miniseries, but network executives approved a second season once it became a great sensation. It was in that installment, which was filled with teases that Björn's unwillingness to die was first hinted at.
Season one follows the legendary Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and his company on their journey to become fearless warriors. On the other hand, the following installment concentrated on his sons and their own journey till season six on their fights with power and treachery.
Following Ragnar's passing, Ivar and Bjorn's animosity grew even more heated as they vied for leadership. Ivar's quest for dominance eventually transformed him into a villain in the early half of season six, when he went aggressive against his half-brother.
During the struggle, he drew out a sword and stabbed Björn in the stomach, but many viewers were left querying if he had killed because the episode ended on a cliffhanger. However, the warrior was shockingly still alive when Vikings returned for the final ten episodes after being presumed dead.
