Mercedes-Benz Vision V Brings 360-Degree Digital Luxury to Pebble Beach

Mercedes-Benz Vision V

Vision V Arrives in California

Mercedes-Benz has brought the Vision V to the U.S. for Pebble Beach Automotive Week 2025. This high-end show car previews the future VLS Grand Limousine. It focuses on maximum comfort and immersive digital experiences.

Following a debut in Shanghai and a stop in Dubai, the Vision V is now in Los Angeles before heading to Pebble Beach. The event is an ideal stage for luxury automotive innovation.

Private Lounge: Immersive Entertainment Hub

The Private Lounge transforms the passenger compartment into an interactive, multi-use space.

Key hardware features:

  • Retractable 65-inch cinema screen hidden under the floor.
  • 4K resolution with Dolby Vision HDR for rich colors and sharp contrast.
  • 42-speaker Dolby Atmos audio, including seat-integrated exciters for haptic sound.
  • Seven projectors turn windows into additional displays for a 360-degree cocooning effect.
  • Ambient lighting synced to music beats.

The screen rises from a burr wood and Nappa leather console once the doors close. Transparent slats in the floor let passengers watch it emerge.

Seven Digital Experience Modes

The Vision V’s entertainment software supports seven interactive worlds. Each mode changes the screen content, lighting, and sound profile.

  1. Entertainment – Movies or music via a split-screen cinema mode.
  2. Relax – Reclined seating with calm visuals and soft audio.
  3. Gaming – Controller-ready, with racing games available.
  4. Work – Turns the lounge into a mobile office with a virtual desk.
  5. Shopping – Interactive retail with 3D product presentation.
  6. Discovery – 3D navigation with augmented reality overlays.
  7. Karaoke – Sing along to a built-in song library, now updated with English content for U.S. audiences.

Cockpit Superscreen

The driver and front passenger get a pillar-to-pillar Superscreen with three displays.

  • Dynamic virtual instrument cluster.
  • Surround navigation using real-time camera and map data.
  • Configurable user interface for personal preferences.

Strategic Market Position: Grand Limousine Segment

Mercedes-Benz plans two new Grand Limousine lines from 2026.

  • VLE – Up to 8 seats, aimed at families, leisure buyers, and VIP shuttles.
  • VLS – Positioned at the top-end luxury MPV segment.

Both will use a new modular, scalable van architecture, separating private from commercial platforms. This structure allows differentiation in features, materials, and pricing.

Pricing Outlook and Cost Considerations

Mercedes-Benz has not announced pricing for the VLS or VLE. Based on current market benchmarks:

  • High-end MPVs with custom luxury interiors range from $180,000–$280,000 USD.
  • Adding large-format digital screens, 42-speaker sound, and custom interiors could push flagship VLS pricing above $300,000 USD for top trims.

This positions the Vision V in the same price tier as a Maybach GLS 600 SUV or high-spec Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Industry Impact

The Vision V signals a shift in luxury automotive design—from static comfort to active, customizable environments. It also aligns with broader market trends:

  • Increasing integration of gaming, retail, and office capabilities in vehicles.
  • Movement toward multi-use interior spaces in electric and hybrid platforms.
  • Growing consumer willingness to pay for technology-led comfort rather than purely mechanical performance.

Outlook

With the VLE and VLS launching from 2026, Mercedes-Benz is positioning itself for high-margin luxury MPV sales in multiple markets. The Vision V is not just a concept—it is a signal of production intent.

For the Pebble Beach audience, the message is clear: the next phase of luxury mobility will be immersive, connected, and personalized.
